Service Terms
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These terms cover the websites and care plans I provide as Alnitech, based in Hamilton, Ontario (“I”, “me”). Your proposal names what you are getting and the price. These terms explain how we work together. They are separate from the Website Terms for using this website.
What you get
The proposal lists the pages and any add-ons. A simple website is up to 5 pages, and an add-on raises one limit or adds one thing. Anything not in the proposal is not included. Accepting the proposal, in writing or by email, is our agreement to these terms.
Price and payment
Prices are in Canadian dollars. I do not currently charge HST; if that changes, I will tell you before you agree to a price, and it applies only to new invoices from that date.
You can pay by Interac e-transfer, or by card through a payment link I send you.
- A simple website, or a move of up to 5 pages: you see the first version before you pay anything. Payment is due when you approve it, and your site goes live once it is paid. Once you have approved and paid, the payment is not refunded. If you decide not to launch, you keep the files we built.
- A custom website, or any project quoted over $1,500: half is due to start the work and half before launch.
- Installments: available on request. We agree them in the proposal.
- Custom work: the start payment is not refunded once work has begun. If you cancel before launch, nothing further is owed, and I send you the files of the work so far if you ask.
Revisions and extra work
Two rounds of revisions are included. A round is one set of changes you send me together. Anything beyond what we agreed, including more rounds, new pages or a different direction, I quote first, and I do not start until you say yes.
Your text and photos
You provide your text and photos, or I use what is on your existing site. You confirm that you have the right to use them. I take inspiration from other websites, and I never copy them.
Ownership
Once your site is built and paid for, the design and content are yours. My page layouts, code and tools stay mine, and I may use them for other clients. Your domain is registered in your name, not mine. I add a credit to my work in your site’s footer only if you agree to it.
Care plans
A site on my platform needs one of two care plans, because that is what pays for its hosting.
- Lights on: hosting, security and software updates, your contact form with spam protection, and a fix if something breaks. Small changes are $20 each, or 3 for $50, when you ask.
- Looked after: everything in Lights on, plus small changes (text, photos and prices), up to five a month, and email help with your questions about your website.
On either plan, small changes are usually made within two business days. I am happy to answer a quick question on either plan; ongoing help with how to use or change your website is part of Looked after.
Both plans are month to month, or yearly at ten months for twelve. They renew automatically: when you start one, you save a card with Stripe, and I charge it on the same date each month or year at the price you chose. You get a receipt by email each time.
You can cancel at any time, by emailing info@alnitech.ca or from the link in your receipt. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. A monthly plan is not refunded for the current month. A yearly plan is refunded in full only if you cancel within 14 days of a renewal.
I give you 30 days’ notice before a care plan price changes, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Bigger work, such as a new page or a redesign, is quoted before I start.
Leaving
You can leave at any time. There is no minimum term. If you cancel, or ask, I hand over your site’s files and you can host them anywhere you like. Your domain is already yours.
Missed payments
If a payment is missed, or a card payment fails, I contact you first. If it is still unpaid after 30 days, your site is paused, not deleted, and I send you your files. Nothing is removed without notice.
If a project stalls
My delivery estimates count from the day I have your text and photos, and stop while I wait for your reply. I never treat silence as approval. If I do not hear from you for 30 days during a project, I pause it and tell you. You can restart it any time by getting in touch; I may need to give you a new date.
Photos, fonts and other licences
Stock photos, fonts and similar material I use stay under their own licences. If you leave, I hand over the files I am allowed to hand over.
Your domain and other services
Your domain renews at your registrar, and you pay the registrar directly. Other services, such as Cloudflare, Resend, Google or a Squarespace subscription, are covered by their own terms.
What I cannot promise
I build websites to open fast and I test them, but I cannot promise a particular speed score, search ranking or number of enquiries, because those depend on things outside my control. The speed numbers I show are measured on one day with one tool and will vary.
My total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid me in the previous 12 months. Neither of us is liable for indirect losses such as lost profit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes
If I change these terms, I update the date at the top. A change does not apply to a project we have already agreed.
